and the local ‘news’ avoids all controversy and thought provoking stories. and the major ‘news’ outlets only spin the garbage they spew to cater to whatever political wing watches them. wake up america, ya’ll are being dumbed down, severely.
are people still saying that “then why are so many people trying to get in” crap? why? BECAUSE THE NOOSE HASNT TIGHTENED YET. come on, it cant just be the paranoid that see it.

Critical thinking is the Governments worst enemy
Your question makes the assumption that people bother to read newspapers any more.
While I’m not happy with news outlets either, I’m still happy to live in a country that people are trying to get INTO, rather than OUT OF.
They’re too ignorant to know they’re stupid.
YOU are reading the wrong newspapers and listening to the wrong news. There are alternatives. Try the NY Times, the Wall Street Journal, NPR etc.
We were taught they were written on a 5th grade level.

Tsk… watch your language. There’s enough to take issue with in the US without namecalling. You should read (or see) “The Ugly American” which depicts US gingoism at its worst.
It is the old ‘chicken and egg’ problem. Do newspapers only report what people want to read? Or do people only read what newspapers choose to report? Nowadays, newspapers are pretty much obsolete. News happens much quicker and far more background to a story is available on line. By the time stories are compiled, written, edited, printed and delivered they are already old.

Anyone with an ounce of sense is able to decide if what they are reading is close to truth. Many know it is manufactured news.
Not all of us are wal-marter,diabtese 2 affected.
There is a wonderful local newspaper here called The Independent. They aren’t afraid of controversy or stirring the pot.

We have raised several generations of uneducated and undereducated drop outs.
That’s why our economy is being outsourced. Too many in the job market don’t have the skills to handle the higher paying jobs.
They can flip burgers or work on an assembly line but thats about it.
